SUSANNA RICHARDSON E VERY THING ORGANI S ED

LIVE 24-SEVEN

SUSANNA RICHARDSON HAS EVERYTHING ORGANISED. . .

Susanna is a wedding and event planner who has been responsible for some of the most talked about parties both here and abroad. A former city girl, she's swapped her heels for the Cotswolds and we're delighted that she will be sharing her musings with us each month.

Mayday, Mayday! It’s what you can hear any wedding planner start to shout at this time of the year. We are entering what is known as "crazy season”. The season where dreams are overtaken by nightmares about missing cakes and ripped dresses and when my gin intake reaches epic heights!

It’s also when I start talking to myself. Well, whispering to myself, which my husband says is incredibly creepy. If anyone has watched 'The Middle' I’m a bit like the youngest son, Brick, who sits alone in a corner and whispers random words to himself. It’s an incredibly attractive trait I’m sure. He says I can often be heard whispering such things as “lilac”, “no, no” and “where is it?” I obviously have big problems.

I suggest that most people avoid me until at least July when I start to resemble a slightly normal person again. I can also then start to enjoy a summer like everyone else, which doesn’t really involve long walks, more long drinks down at The Farmhouse. This year I actually have my birthday off, which is so overwhelmingly exciting I don’t actually know what to do with myself.

It’s also a super exciting month because my book 'The Honest Planner' is finally published. Well, I should say “I hope” as I write this in advance - you never know what printing disaster can strike! It’s been two years in the making and has been a really therapeutic and personal journey. It contains advice and tips for a Bride-To-Be as well as various funny stories of my (mis) adventures along the way...of which there are many. You see, one thing I have learned is that you can never really prepare for everything. You can try, but there’s always something which crops up and bites you on the bottom, like a broken down bus, a rather disgruntled flower girl, or my old favourite the weather. Of course it’s all of these things which make for the best stories and I often wish we had a hidden camera for the amount of times we’ve dealt with a serious mishap. It would certainly make for great viewing....
