Medicine Hat was once a hub of industrial activity with a thriving pottery factory that exported around the world. Situated in the historic clay district, Medalta is more than a museum with pottery artifacts to admire. Sure, it houses the world's largest exhibition of Medalta pottery, but this National Historic Site has morphed into a community hub, housing an art gallery and ceramic arts facility. (Yep, you can take a class!) The century-old factory is still a working ceramic studio, and you’ll no doubt spot artists in residence creating wonderful works of art, as you tour the facility.
