Coyote Flats Pioneer Village The Prairie Tractor and Engine Society is a dream


come to life for six southern Alberta gentlemen with a penchant for the past and an interest in early agricultural machinery. Founded in 1982, the museum is home to hundreds of lovingly rebuilt and refurbished antique farming machines. Tractors, binders, threshers, combines, and dozens


of other pieces of equipment are on display at this extraordinary facility, and many of them get their engines fired up for the Parade of Power, held at the museum each August.

Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park Dry Island Buffalo Jump is a little known secret


gem in the Alberta Parks system. Located near Trochu, the Park offers breathtaking scenic views of the Red Deer river valley. A favorite spot for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers, the area boasts over 150 different species of birds, from warblers to turkey vultures. This Park is day use only, but picnic sites with firepits are available.


The hand boat launch provides access to paddlers who are keen to experience the badlands from the water. Hike on informal trails that wind through the coulees and native grasslands and take not of the sensitive plants that grow along the way. Camping may be done at Tolman east or west campgrounds a the south end of the Park. The access road into the Park is closed during wet weather.

Dinosaur is open year round for dino-enthusiasts of all ages to explore. Climb 106 stairs inside the 26 m (86 ft) tall T-rex, lined with beautiful murals, and admire the breathtaking badlands from her gaping jaw. Admission is charged and there is a gift shop, Visitor Information Centre and public washrooms onsite.
