or the first time the Social Cup was, appropriately, sponsored by our Social Members. Twenty of them stepped forward to support this popular, 10-goal tournament, which
was won by Alan Fall’s Mad Dogs. They defeated Leander 5-2. As a thank you for their generosity, these social members
and their guests were given the key to the Royal Box to enjoy a packed afternoon of sport and hospitality. First on the agenda was an illuminating polo talk by Club player Roddy Matthews. Guests then moved to the Royal Box Terrace to watch the final in comfort; sadly played in some of the worst weather we had experienced that summer. The event concluded with a delicious, Mosimann’s afternoon tea, to which all the finalists were invited too. This was a great opportunity for our social members to chat with our patrons and players, over a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne of course.
