in 2015 during a sporting event. And pensioner Frank Gore’s


body was found by the water’s edge in 2017. A coroner subse- quently ruled he had accidentally slipped and drowned.


News Fire hits barn


FIREFIGHTERS battled a barn blaze in Seven Mile Lane near Mereworth onMarch 11. Crews fromKent Fire and Res-


cue Service arrived on site just after 2.30pm. They found hay ablaze inside the building, and a tractor and trailer alight. Officers in two fire engines had


brought the flames under control by 3.41pm, but the building and tractor were destroyed. KFRS said there were no re-


ported casualties and the cause of the fire is not known.


Clamp drama


ANDREWScott became an inter- net sensation last month, when he clamped a bailiffwho partially blocked his drive with her car. The enforcement officer, who


had been working in East Malling,was filmed arguingwith 54-year-oldMr Scottwhen she re- turned to Bondfield Road to find her vehicle immobilised. The footage went viral online. Mr Scott eventually released


the car at the request of the po- lice, and the bailiff was asked to leave the area.
