Honeymoon The wedding takes front and centre stage when it comes to planning for the big day but what about after? Or what if you want to combine the ceremony and honeymoon in a destination wedding? Do you want to go far away or stay close to home?

Splurge or budget?

• Travel consultants are essential, especially if you want to have a destination wedding! Consultants have contacts in the countries you might be interested in and can arrange everything for you based on your party size. You get to focus on the wedding details, they handle the planning! The consultants will also help you with the ins and outs having a legally binding wedding at your destination, or if you'd rather be married by a commissioner at home and have the ceremony away.

• If you're having a destination wedding it can be cheaper for the bride and groom because the guests typically pay their own way and accommodation.

• Looking for a traditional wedding ceremony at home, then jetting off somewhere? Travel consultants are still your best bet! They'll do the legwork to find you exactly what you want, with discounts and any requests you have.

• Where do you want to go? There are some things to consider when making that decision such as the weather (Is it rainy season where you want to go? Super hot and scorching?) , what you want to get out of the trip (Are you two sightseers? Would you prefer to lay on the beach for a week?), where you want to stay (Are you content with a beach hut in Tahiti or would you prefer the hustle and bustle of a Times Square hotel with all the amenities?).

• Maybe you're saving money for a down payment on a house or keeping things on a budget--cool! Look at places close to home that are far enough away to feel like a vacation. Consider mountain resorts, a bigger or different city than you're in, or renting a camper for a chance to get back to nature.

• Don't forget to apply for or renew your passports!!

As long as you're together and celebrating your brand new union it doesn't matter where you go on your honeymoon!
