If you have children from a previous marriage, they should be the first to know.

Typically the bride’s parents are told first, followed by the groom’s immediately afterwards. It is always nice to tell them in person, but if your parents live far away, over the phone will work just fine. Both of you should be present.


Even if you want many of your close friends and relatives to know at the same time, consider who would be hurt to not find out immediately. You can tell them all at once with a family dinner, or simply tell them on the phone.


As soon as you’re ready for the rest of the world to know:

Wedding Rings...


Circular wedding bands go back at least as far as Ancient Egypt. The circular shape symbolizes undying love. The ring is worn on the fourth finger of the left hand because it was believed this finger had a direct connection to the heart.


Rings were originally made of grass or hemp, and had to be replaced often. Over centuries they evolved from stone and iron, to silver and gold.


These rings made of precious metal were only for royalty. How surprised (and no doubt annoyed!) past royalty would be, if they came back to discover that just about anyone can now buy a precious metal ring at the local mall!
