OWNED and run by local couple Becky & Steve Jones, de Argenteins has been open and serving residents and visitors to Halesworth since December 2017, with the kitchen open for food from March 2018. Named after a prominent family who lived in Halesworth in the 11th century,


it is said


that Margaret de Argentein still lives upstairs in the lounge. Becky

It is lovely to see this stunning building being given the love and attention it deserves from passionate and enthusiastic owners. That said, this year has not been easy.


For Becky and Steve this last year has been incredibly challenging. In March 2018, at just eight months old, their daughter Beth fell ill, and they were told the devastating news that


she had Meningitis B,


Beth spent the next 20 days on a ventilator at Addenbrookes. There were many complications but after four weeks she was able to be transferred to Norfolk and Norwich to be closer to home. Over the next few weeks and months she made steady progress and though every day is a challenge, Beth is clearly a fighter and she is back to the bright-eyed cheeky little girl that many will know her to be. This ordeal has inspired Becky to take on the challenge of running the London Marathon to raise money for the Sick Children’s Trust who helped her family so much over this incredibly
