OUR numbers were somewhat depleted


for our February


meeting as traffic in Norwich had hindered some of our group’s return


home from


watching ‘Calendar Girls’. We had been asked to ‘Show


and tell – My Hobby.’ What hidden


talents our members


have: Sheila displayed some of her paintings which varied from a portrait of an elderly man to beguiling hares. Cheryl demonstrated the intricate art of lace making with a selection of lovely bobbins; this is a craft needing


skill and patience.


Roz’s hobby is decorating ceramics; she displayed several beautiful examples of her art.


Sue showed us an eclectic selection of objects which she collects and occasionally sells. Cathy’s hobby is black work, a quite exquisite craft first brought to this country by Kathryn of Aragon. Jill had several examples of her quilting and some delightful applique. Viv enjoys amateur dramatics; she had brought along a costume that she had worn in a village pantomime. She rounded off an interesting evening with a very apt rendition of a Joyce Grenfell monologue. ‘Local Food Producers’ is the title of our March meeting.
