Understanding dyslexia

Global charity Made By Dyslexia has developed a series of training fi lms designed to help teachers, educators and parents understand dyslexia and learn how to promote a dyslexia-inclusive classroom. The fi ve short fi lms are fronted by celebrities with dyslexia, including Richard Branson and Orlando Bloom. They focus on the different ways those with dyslexia think and the issues they face in a classroom environment and workplace. Later in the year, fi ve additional modules will be released, along with a series of roadshow events to showcase the training and spread awareness even further. Microsoft has used the fi lms to create a free online training resource about dyslexia, which can be viewed at education.microsoft.com/courses-and- resources/courses/dyslexia-awareness-in- partnership-with-made-by-dyslexia.
