Air diffusion solution for exposed ceilings
Exposed ceilings in new builds and refurbishments are being specified more than ever before. Waterloo Air Products plc has designed a clever Blanking Collar that keeps the purity of the design architects want, at the same time as maintaining performance levels. Mat Southgate, Technical Quality Manager at Waterloo said: “The result is a small device that is
designed to be easily added to the swirls. It’s a great solution, because it looks so good and it doesn’t detract from the exposed ceiling. We proved the performance of the air distribution through smoke tests and it showed that it worked really well giving a horizontal air pattern.

The Transport Salaried Staff’s Association (TSSA) have just completed a fit-out of their new headquarters space on the second floor of 17 Devonshire Square, London. Working with Adaptive Cooling on behalf of the project lead, Morgan Lovell, AET supplied additional equipment to cater to the
TSSA space layout. This included 24 extra TUS Fantiles and six FlexTouch wall controllers for the Director’s offices, permitting remote temperature and fan speed adjustment of the Fantiles without having to physically access the integrated controller within the unit.

Vectaire’s Microbox 125/2DC was chosen to ventilate St Peter’s House and Admiral’s House in Kents Road, Torquay. This prestigious development converting two listed buildings into apartments needed discreet, but effective ventilation. The Microbox, provided this. The unit is slim (less than 184 mm deep) so is particularly suited for in-line installation where space is at a premium. It is easy to install, using
the minimum amount of ductwork (therefore fewer fire dampers and less coring), saving approximately £250 per system.
