Mystery Jars reach new heights!

F

or many years pupils have contributed to the Christmas

Fayre by producing mystery jars which are then sold to raise money for PSFA funds. But this year the bar was raised with individual tutor groups in the Senior School being challenged to work as a team and produce themed jars which were then judged by Toby Spence, Tracy Knowles and our caretaker Jayne Turner. And boy were they creative! 11NM placed their jars in a nativity scene, 10SW produced a host of Minions and 8VM turned their jars into Santa.

Winner of the team prize

however was 9DS who produced Father and Mother Christmas (bearing a strange resemblance to teachers Simon and Victoria Baker!) on their reindeer-drawn sleigh followed by a host of elves. There were also some fantastic individual offerings with prizes for the most creative solo jars going to Izzie in Year 12 for her painted scene of the stable in Bethlehem, Amelia, Year 8, for her reindeer and Scarlett, Year 11, for her angel.

12 Christmas shoe box appeal

A record 52 Christmas boxes left Sibford in November to make their way to some of the most vulnerable children and families in Southeast Europe. Sibford has for many years contributed to The Trussell Trust

Christmas Box Appeal. However, following the enormous growth of the Foodbank Network in recent years (which Sibford also supports), The Trussell Trust has refined its vision to focus on ending hunger and poverty in the UK and handed over all the overseas work to its partner organisation The Foundation for Social Change and Inclusion (FSCI). Thankyou to all pupils who took part in the FSCI appeal ... a great show of Sibford generosity.
