CHARITY NEARLY NEW SALE Saturday 19th January, 2-3.30pm


Broadstone Methodist Church, Lower Blandford Road, Broadstone BH18 8DP. Clothes (from maternity to 12 years), toys, books, linen, equipment, furniture, etc. Entrance £1 per adult. Free tea/coffee and homemade cakes for sale too! ALL PROCEEDS are donated to the SPRING charity at Poole Hospital (supporting families through baby loss). Come and grab some bargains!


ROTARY JAZZ RETURNS TO WIMBORNE


Wimborne Rotary has successfully concluded its search for a big band to play at its annual charity jazz concert. After this year’s concert in February, the Bournemouth Jazz Orchestra disbanded leaving the Club to fi nd another band to continue the annual event.


Swing Unlimited Big Band has been booked for Monday 11th February at the Allendale. Formed nearly 20 years ago, and rated by many as Dorset’s premier big band, their playlist includes classic swing numbers from such greats as Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Glenn Miller.


Organiser, Rotarian Darryl Reach, says: “We are delighted to be able to maintain our popular established big band music series, which will now include vocal numbers. These concerts are one of our main sources of charity revenue for Rotary and another exciting evening of big band swing is promised.”
