Future, Past & Present Advice for gardeners from Chestnut Nursery

Well what a year 2018 was! Thank you all who support us, who donated to the charity, and purchased plants grown by our wonderful volunteers.

It’s through the production and maintenance of

plants that the charity can offer horticultural therapy to those in the community suffering with mental health conditions.

Last year the volunteers grew a staggering 45,000 individual plants, across a range of over fi ve hundred different species and varieties. Customer feedback was ever positive, many stating how impressive our range is and how healthy our plants are. Hearing how our plants bring joy and grow so well, ensures the volunteers a great sense of purpose and achievement.

Unfortunately, our old potting shed had to be demolished and with the busy potting season starting next month we are appealing for funds to help us build a replacement! The potting shed is the heart of the nursery – where the volunteers do most of their work; friendships begin; a support network is always to hand; and a sense of belonging is created. You can donate to us through:

• Facebook/chestnutnurserypoole • Our website: www.chestnutnursery.org.uk

• Postal cheque sent to Chestnut Nursery, Kingland Road, Poole BH15 1TN

• Cash, cheque or card in our pop-up shop

We have planned an equally productive growing year ahead, and can’t wait to get stuck in. Look out for new and exciting varieties of plants across all of our ranges. From annual bedding to unusual exotics, we keep our plants fresh and exciting. We look forward to seeing you all at our new revamped nursery site in March and to all, we wish you a peaceful and healthy

year ahead.
