Sonoma County, CA. ~ Some- times there is no good reason to be outside, especially when the rains come. Unless that is you like to splash around in muddy puddles. I for one don’t care for that past-time. So when we want to play and we can’t, what do we do? A hot cup of tea at a nice café is one idea, or, if you still want to do some- thing golf related, come on in to the Golf Mart. When you’ve shopped until you’re ready to drop, then you’ve gone as far as you can on the road of retail therapy.
After that, there is also the option of working on one’s “Inner game.” Since we all have issues that need to be

addressed, it is really impor- tant to recognize that every- thing starts from within. I am of the belief that a good game plan starts with a blueprint. Pre-shot and pre-game routine should not be underestimated. Golfers who rise to the top of their game usually don’t do it by accident. They have a plan to create mastery which starts with a solid housekeep- ing of their Inner Game world. Proper creative visualization beforehand can often lead to peak performance awareness and better results.

“Alchemical Hypnotherapy,” I take students on a journey into their inner landscapes to help them find internal resources for success. If you have a bad case of the yips or you are a chronic slicer or you have an- ger issues, any of these issues can be addressed at the source. Once a student finds cer-
tain tools or meta-skills they are in a better position to deal with the anxiety that confronts them. By learning how to work more efficiently with their breath they can learn the art of slowing down. When a student
realizes the power of connect- ing breath-work with creative visualization
technique, they
find themselves in new ter- rain. They are no longer mere puppets to

A Howling Good Story
...continued from page 10
quiet enough to hear a pin drop onto the street below, I heard a shrill howling off in the dis- tance. It was far, far away; yet I felt the animal totem energy arrive in my spine, as I was awakened from a sound sleep. Slowly and surely it became louder and louder, the energy coming closer and closer… howling at the moon, scream- ing at the tar beneath the pads of its feet, digging in with its claws to get better traction, closer closer. I was frozen… just frozen, now asking my- self, “Why didn’t you get out of bed to see it?” But, I couldn’t move… my eyes were as wide as saucers. My heart was pounding, the sound passed right - under - my - window. I was no more than 20 feet from it, as it reached its crescendo. Ten it receded into the dis- tance, much more quickly than it arrived, as my heart was pounding. I was just sim- ply in awe of being that close to something that played itself out like that, with no visuals, but highly evocative and a story to last a lifetime.
