T e talented Emma Flores had been working at Big Al’s Barbershop in the Fulton/Raley’s Center for 20 years. T ree years ago, Al passed away

but the shop stayed open. T en suddenly in May, the shop closed and the community lost a valued institution and Emma lost her job. T is was on the heels of losing her home in the fi res last October, 2019. It was a

bad time for her. It was more stress and sadness than a person should be expected to bear. But those who know Emma and her impressive bar- bering skills, also know she is not a quitter. She is rebuilding her home. And aſt er barely a 2-month hiatus, Emma’s own barbershop opened to a

complete remodel, all new chairs…and no price increase! Emma is joined by Bruce, Jim and newcomer Barry to this renewed and reinvigorated landmark business.

Emma’s Barbershop opened in July of 2018, making

so many people happy, there was a line out the door the fi rst day. Emma is beloved by her customers, and now she smiles all day, and that makes us all smile with her, as we walk out with a fresh cut, and happy!
