Launched three-and-a-half years ago, UK Protection Ltd may not be an instantly recognisable brand here in Devon, despite being headquartered in Exeter. But the business has enjoyed significant success and growth since it was created by husband and wife team Andy and Emma Fairbanks. Initially concentrating on manned guarding for the luxury jewellery retail sector in London’s West End, UK Protection are now the largest provider of such security solutions to this sector in the country protecting in excess of £100m of stock on a daily basis. A highly experienced management team, drawn from police, military and security backgrounds, provide an in-depth knowledge of operational security solutions and ensure close working relationships with clients and the police. The business has expanded
rapidly and has achieved a much wider area of operation to include locations such as Birmingham, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells. This expansion is set to continue this year taking the company’s operations as far as Glasgow.

bought a controlling interest in Advanced Security Alarm Protection (ASAP) which has been designing, installing and maintaining fire and intruder alarms, in addition to CCTV and
businessman Richard Smith, who served as a Director of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce for nine years, was recruited as Chief Operating Officer with expansion a clear priority. Richard said: “This is a very exciting time for the business which now offers a wide range of security solutions. We have ambitious expansion plans in place, which will see the business raise its profile considerably.
