This period included the warmest October day (23.0C on 13th) since first three hot days of 2011 (27.0C on 1st, 28.8C on 2nd and 27.5C on 3rd). The 13th, one of seven days to record daytime temperature of 20.0C or better, the last of which being the 16th recorded 22.0C, an incredible statistic at this time of the year. Additionally 17.0C recorded overnight 12th/13th was the warmest October night on my entire record, which exceeded previous best for an October night of 16.5C on 02/10/1985, 01/10/1997 and 02/10/2011. AT our last month's Buttercross fundraising sale on October 20th we took a total of £159.44 - many thanks to those of you that came. We will not be at the Buttercross any more - we're getting too old and it's too exhausting, but we are not closing the Rescue, so if you want a cat, please contact us!


We have just taken in a pair


of lovely ginger girls (mature) and three pure whites aged nine (Auntie) and seven years (brother and sister). They are all happy in their family groups - but might possibly separate if we can't home them with their family members. In case you missed last month's editorial - we had someone pass on a bug to our kittens and most of them died (while we were fundraising at the Buttercross). Three white and black kittens have recovered - I believe two are booked but we have been unable to contact the prospective owners to confirm yet. When they are old enough and have homes, we will not be taking more kittens or pregnant Mums.
