Swindon Sports Forum Grants

Jessica Sprules local Ice Hockey talent needs your help!

Jessica is a very talented, well respected and admired athlete. Her chosen sport, Ice Hockey, has provided her with some fantastic opportunities over the past couple of years and has seen her represent her country for the Women’s U18 Great Britain Ice Hockey Team in Poland, Hungary & Spain. Jess was also awarded Sports Women of the year last year for United Learning.

In a male dominated environment, she has continued to prove her strength of character by being the only Female playing League Hockey at U18 level in our local Academy.

Building on this she was the first Female player to be selected to play in a prestigious tournament for the Okanagan Academy (the leading Junior Academy in the UK based in Swindon). Jessica is the first Female player in the UK to be offered a full-time placement at the Okanagan Ice Hockey Academy, a dream she has had for years.

Unfortunately, as her level in sport rises so does the cost of facilitating her activities. As with all top Academies in any sport the price of this is significant and is becoming beyond the means of our family’s income.

We are hoping that by reaching out to people and companies across Wiltshire and Swindon, we would be able to secure some financial sponsorship to help with the costs of making her dream a reality.

If sponsorship is not an option, it would be great if you could make a donation to her GO FUND ME page or share the link on your social media platforms. Link to her page is below. https://bit.ly/2veEDkj

With your help, Jessica is hopeful to complete her final Junior year & fulfil her full potential with OHA aspiring to progress to play professionally in Canada / US or Europe.

I hope you will be able to help a local girl reach her goals and fore fill her dreams.

The Swindon Sports Forum run an extensive Grants programme to help support clubs develop their activities.

WHAT WE OFFER: Club Development:

For big projects, we can help with grant applications such as Sport England Small Grants and National Lottery Awards for All. We can help develop an idea into a viable project, as well as support with the application process.

Increasing Participation:

If you have a small project in mind to create a new activity or attract new people to your club, our small project grants could be for you. Designed for projects of 6-8 weeks, clubs can apply for up to £500.

Workforce Bursary:

If your club needs support with coaching capacity, our workforce bursary could help coaches get their foot on the coaching ladder or develop their skills and knowledge.

Suitable for Level 1, 2 or 3 coaching courses (or equivalent), we can support up to 75% of the cost of the qualification.

Talented Athlete Academy:

We offer support to talented young athletes from Swindon, with a yearly programme of athlete support days with specialist coaches.
