FIRST OFFICIAL INSPECTION TOUR Te judges for the Holsteiner Verband American tour this year were Matt Davis, Michael Gonell, Dr. Kim Gill-Favier and the breeding director for the Holsteiner Verband, Dr. Tomas Nissen. Te tour brought the commissioners to ten American states and three farms in Canada. Tere were many outstanding mares approved
Pennsylvania Te first Approval site was held at Nick Edmunds’ Hidden Pearl Farm. His mare, G-Diana (Calinello x Acorado, stem 776, bred by Kay Bahl- mann), was champion and a premium mare. Te champion foal for this site was also bred and owned by Nick Edmunds, the filly Lav- ender Sky (Clearway x Alasca, stem 776).

nia, Texas, Ohio and Colorado and will judge the site in Illinois on October 14 (after this writing). Matt was also elected to the Holsteiner Breeding Commission at our last delegate meeting.

Texas Te host in Texas was First Flight Farm, which also breeds young Holsteiner horses very successfully. Te champion mare was Hollywood SSH, a Cancara Z x Cacique daughter bred and owned by Lisa O’Brien of Seguin Sport- horses. A top foal bred by Tricia Veley, First Flight Farm, is the filly Liesl FFF (Calito x Araconit). She was one of the all premium foals presented that day.

chael and Marilyn Lemke. Te champion filly was Limonet MCE (Limoncel- lo I x Cornet Obolensky) owned and bred by Nicole Taylor, and the champion colt, Cessna M (Conway II x Chin Chin), comes from the breeding of Mer- edith Weller.

Colorado Te Colorado inspection was hosted by Shelby Burle- son of Tempus Fugit Farm held at the Boulder Eques- trian Center. Of all the great foals presented, the judge was especially con- vinced that the champion foal should be Enchant- ing Smile FFF (Emerald van’t Ruytershof x Casall x Cayado), owned and bred by Shelby Burleson. Te champion mare at the site was Belle Zoe de Revel (Contender out of Lou Lou / Quidam de Revel). She is owned by Kristi Allen of New American Sport Horses.
