Hunt said: “The process for find- ing a new vicar is well underway. The vacancy should be advertised soon and interviewswill be held in the autumn time.We hope to have our new vicar by spring. “The Parochial Church Council

Aack alleged Parish’s ‘Tommy’ tribute Birds charge


A WEST Malling man has been charged with attempted murder following an attack on awoman in Meopham. Officers investigating the assault


on September 3 have charged Alexander Weston (42), of Church Field, in relation to an incident near Waterlow Road, in which a woman was said to have been as- saulted by a man known to her. She was taken to hospital with head injuries. Hewill appear beforeMaidstone Crown Court at a later date.

A SNODLAND man has been charged with the theft of wild birds. Leonard Devall (35), of Kent


Road,was charged on September 6 with the burglaries of four aviaries at properties


Chatham, Deal and Pembury. He was also charged with four


offences of handling stolen prop- erty and possession ofwild birds. He will appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 5 October.
