Architectural demand for minimalistic design results in major growth for Aspex

Aspex, one of the UK’s leading architectural ironmongery and doorset companies, is celebrating a rewarding return on its investment, after securing a number of major contracts to supply its Novista Riser system. Over the last six months, Aspex has had a large increase in its orders and has tripled its sales of the Novista Riser doorsets since last year. Originally developed in 2015 to meet the demands of architects looking for a minimalist aesthetic, the Novista Riser system has taken off massively in the market and has been installed in London’s Facebook offices and Chelsea Barracks, a major residential scheme in London. Aspex has also recently won contracts to supply the system in Paradise Street, a student accommodation in Coventry, Nile St, an apartment scheme in London, and a prestigious office development at Station Road Station in Cambridge. The Novista Riser system is available with either a timber or steel door leaf and is suitable for a wide variety of projects with single, double, triple, and quadruple combinations available. It can be factory painted to any RAL colour or primed to allow on-site painting for precise colour matching with the adjacent wall.

As part of the BBC DIY SOS build to support the Grenfell community, Structura UK is proud to announce it has helped to realise the ambitious project to build a new Community Centre and a replacement Dale Youth Amateur Boxing Club – located in Bay 20 of the Westway. Both projects are aimed to support the survivors of the Grenfell disaster. Over 200 square metres of Kalwall®

translucent cladding has been used along the whole

elevation of the new Boxing Club using the newly adapted THERM+ ‘stick built’ curtain walling system from RAICO. This is the first project realised using the new system and has worked remarkably well. The ability to conceal the fixings and screws coupled with the mill-finished aluminium framing has created a wonderfully smooth and dramatic facade. This new Kalwall+Raico system offers incredible versatility, even allowing the switching of materials – such as aluminium, steel or glued laminate timber (Glulam) – within the same facade. Kalwall is a popular choice for projects where performance, long life cycle and low maintenance are required, coupled with an aesthetic finish.
