Year 9 Boys Football Girls’ Basketball

The Girls’ Basketball teams also enjoyed a successful term. The Year 7 team played really well wining 24:0 against Isambard on 15 March, where Trinity Lango was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) for her great shooting.

The Year 8 teams had a 56:6 win against Dorcan on 29 March after a top effort by all, and Emily Rule awarded MVP.

Our Year 9 Girls Basketball team enjoyed celebrating another victory over Dorcan, with a 28:8 win on 29 March. Well done to Jazz Gregory who was MVP, part of a great team performance.

There was a strong start from the football teams with the Year 9’s beating St John’s 2:1 on 22 February, thanks to goals from Tobias Iango and Tom Ponting. The whole team put in a great performance and Man of the Match was awarded to Cameron Clements.

The team then put in another great performance on 1 March with a 3-1 win against Ridgeway. There were so many Man of the match performances from the Year 9’s it made it a tough decision, but Tom Ponting goals were superb, he held up play well and creating chances, so it had to go to him.

March 7 saw an awesome team display by the Year 9 team where everyone played great football and defended well in their 7-0 win against Isambard. Congratulations to Beyazit Durdu for getting Man of the Match he showed great skill in the centre mid, read the game well, passed well and scored. There were so many superb

performances again, not least by Tom Pitt & Beyazit Durdu on their goals and Tom Ponting on his 5!

They were able to win 4:0 against RWBA on 21 March. The whole team played well. Jamie White just edged man of the match for his commanding display at the back. Congratulations to Harvey Richards and Ben Cardas for opening your scoring account at Bradon, and well done Tom Ponting and Tobias Lango for the other two.

We played Nova Hreod on 24 March, and won by 11:0. Well done & congratulation Sou Watanabe on the Man of the Match. Another good example of textbook finishing by goal scorers; Tom Ponting and Tobias Lango, with Hatricks Beyzit Durdu & Sou Watanabe and Dan Franks with a goal too. Man of the Match went to Tom Pitt for this match.

The Year 9 team ended the term with an unlucky 3:2 loss against a strong Lydiard Park Academy team. An opportunity for them to focus their strategy ahead of the Swindon Schools’ Cup after Easter.

Year 7 Boys Football

It was great to see the Year 7 Boys’ team perform so well in their first match against Isambard on 28 February, Euan Spackman was awarded Man of the Match for his goals in the 3:1 win. They won against Nova Hreod on 7 March thanks to a strike from Sam Ponting and an unfortunate own goal from Nova. Harrison Bennett played really well and was a key player in the team and he was a deserved recipient of the man of the match

Girls Football

The girls football teams have a good foundation for development. The U14 & U16 teams both put in a good effort in their March matches, but unfortunately they were unable to clinch a win against Dorcan 1-4 and 1-2 respectively. Well done to M.Hutchison & L. Bulley as they were the two MVPs.

Year 10 Boys Football

Well done to the Year 10 boys for a great term. They celebrated a convincing 9:1 win on 1 March against RWBA: 4 goals from Harry Rule, 2 from Harrison Mace, 2 from Dan Clare and 1 from Brandon Weatherly. A deserved Man of Match was awarded to Harrison Mace.

They put in another superb performance on 10 March, with Dan Claire and Harry Rule with two goals each & Max Spackman scoring one in a 5:1 win against LPA.

Well done for a good win again on 29 March, this time a 4:2 against Ridgeway. Man of the Match went to Jamie Harrison, and goals came from Dan Clare (2) Harrison Mace (1) and an OG.
