Ever wanted to support your local healthcare Trust? If so, now’s your time! If you’d like to be part of a fantastic volun- tary group and do your bit for the commu- nity, The Friends of All Hallows would love to hear from you! Who are we? The Friends of All Hallows are a brilliant vol- untary group who have been supporting All Hallows Healthcare Trust, an independent charity based in Ditchingham and Bungay, for over forty years! We work with a great deal of kindness, friendship and courtesy. What do we do? We raise funds for the Trust by subscription, donations and fundraising for the purpose of ensuring patients receive the only best possi- ble care, in addition to the purchase of equip- ment, supplies and repairs with community involvement, and to provide advice and back- ing to the Trust. As our primary form of fundraising and pub- licity, we hold three main events every year. This includes planning, organising and host- ing a Garden Party, a Summer Fayre and a Christmas Bazaar. Additionally, we also sup- port Trust events too, which can include The Paws in the Park on the Earl Ferris’ Ditching- ham Estate, and more recently, the very suc- cessful Pop Picnic held in Broome. The Friends rely heavily upon the generos- ity of volunteers and supporters. We receive funding from regular monthly subscriptions, donations from local clubs and businesses, donations in lieu of funeral flowers and lega- cies. Without fail we will acknowledge every gift/donation with an explanation of where such gifts will be used, or where possible, will try and arrange for such monies to be spent in whatever location requested by the donor. What have we achieved so far? Since we were established over four decades ago, the Friends have raised well over a mil- lion pounds! The largest legacy being used to help fund what is now a prospering Daycare Centre situated at the rear of the hospital, overlooking the beautiful grounds. Other Trust assets funded by The Friends in- clude new vehicles (a Minibus and Meals on Wheels van), promotional gazebos, equip- ment and much, much more that only en- hance the quality of service for local people.

FRIENDS OF ALL HALLOWS

How can YOU help us? As a member of The Friends, there are several different ways in which you can do your part. We are always looking for people to get in- volved in our events; whether it’s coming up with new and exciting ideas, making arrange- ments, putting up posters or helping out on the day, there’s a huge amount of work that goes into each, so all extra help is appreciated! Assisting with donations is another option. Our raffles and tombola’s are always very popular and continually need to be restocked, therefore you could help by writing and send- ing letters to local businesses and organisa- tions asking for prizes. If not, perhaps you’d prefer to collect donated items instead, or simply make occasional single sum dona- tions, where necessary, to any of the Trust’s services. Alternatively, you can arrange to make a regular monetary contribution towards one, or several, of All Hallows’ services via a sub- scription. There are also opportunities to volunteer at the Trust. You can help with the support and befriending of patients, clients and residents though reading, sharing an interest in their activities, or just having a chat. You can even assist staff at the Hospital, Nursing Home or Daycare by helping with teas and coffees, administration, gardening and much more – whichever suits you! All this aside, please remember that we value your time as equally as your money - so you need not worry if you can’t afford a subscrip- tion.

Join us! Like what you’ve have heard so far? We’d be more than happy to arrange for a chat. Please contact our Secretary, Mrs. Val Page on 01986 897171, who will kindly answer any

questions you may have. Please note: You must be over the age of eighteen to join The Friends of All Hallows, and you will be ex- pected to attend most committee meetings. All full DBS check will also be required.
