EMMANUEL CHURCH
We are half way along Upper Olland Street opposite Holmwood Residential Home and in the 1980s we were one of the first Churches to totally unite the United Reformed and Methodist traditions. Our Sunday services start at 10.45am with Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month and All Age Worship led by the Worship Band every third Sunday. However, Emmanuel is more than a Church, it’s a community. We carry out God’s teach- ings through our worship, our outreach and our mission to bring people closer to God. Our Church is inclusive and welcoming. Em- manuel is also open throughout the week, from mornings to midday if you wish to spend time quietly alone with God. Our Church is full of creative expressions of faith, please enjoy our banners, collages and gifts from our twinned church in Holland. If you join us in worship or spend time quietly by yourself, we hope that you will find it a time of blessing and peace. As well as worship, we want to make the world a better place because we know that God cares about it. We support Christian Aid very actively. We encourage our members to buy and support Fair Trade. We support local organisations such as the Waveney Food Bank, and further afield through the

Blythswood Shoebox Appeal showing care for the poor in Europe. On alternate Fridays, there is a Luncheon Club for people to enjoy each other’s company with a lovely cooked meal. We have become an eco-friendly church by installing solar panels to harness the sun and through our ground source heat pump, we have underfloor heating using stored heat from the earth, all in our Community Build- ing behind the church in Rose Lane.
