the marine industry. This will generate significant synergies for industry stakeholders and from a marketing prospective, it will provide an Asia/ Pacific wide focus on the marine industry and the Gold Coast.” The MIA has conducted

international marina conferences and trade shows every two years since 2001. The last three events have been in partnership with the Boating Industries Association (BIA) with a broader marine agenda, but with the blessing of both organisations, the event will revert to a marina-focused event in 2019. Anna Case, Director of Global

Business Events at Destination Gold Coast, welcomed the announcement. She stated, “We’re delighted to hear that the Gold Coast has been selected to host this conference and we’re looking forward to welcoming delegates to Marinas19 next year. With a strong connection to the marine industry, combined with our overall appeal to international and national delegates, the Gold Coast is ideally suited to host this prestigious event”. The location of Marinas19 will

be the Sea World Resort Conference Center, which provides delegates with an extra incentive to bring partners and family to enjoy the resort’s facilities and attractions. Marina Industries Association colin@marinas.net.au www.marinas.net.au
