Business leaders in schools

Founders4Schools (founders4schools.org.uk) is a charity that aims to inspire students by connecting them with local business leaders to help them prepare for the world of work. The service is completely free, and the online platform enables educators to find business leaders in their community and invite them to speak at their school. The quick request form means you can submit your requirements in minutes, or use the search platform to find the perfect match by filtering by postcode and the type of input you’re after, e.g. workplace visit, mock interview, keynote career talk. Once you’ve found a business leader to invite, just choose your dates, sign up, and let Founders4Schools do the rest. It saves you time researching companies, sending emails and making phone calls, and it’s a fantastic way to show students how the subjects they study in the classroom link to the workplace.

CASH IN

ON TRASH Clothes4Charity has launched a new recycling scheme, Funds4School (funds4school.org.uk), which aims to reduce environmental impact while raising funds for schools. To take part in the scheme, simply register, order your recycling bags by phone or email, then distribute them to your school community. Participants then return the bags, filled with second- hand goods including clothing, shoes, jewellery, toiletries and bric-a-brac, on the appointed collection day. The Funds4School van driver weighs the bags on site and your payment will be paid straight into your account.
