Interserve, the Twyford- based global support services and construction company, proved the star turn in March when it came to share price rises of quoted companies in the Thames Valley.
Its shares rose 47% following an upbeat announcement about refinancing plans. Interserve said discussions with lenders and other financial stakeholders had continued to progress well, with agreement in principle on major commercial terms now reached.
Chief executive Debbie White said: “Today’s announcement is a significant milestone for Interserve and a major step in securing a firm financial platform to underpin the group’s future. We are
encouraged by the support from our lenders in respect of these new facilities, which will allow the new management team to execute our business plan focused on delivering a great service for customers, driving growth and restoring value.”
Another big riser (up 33%) was the 2VCT fund of Oxford Technology, a specialist in the start-up and early-stage technology sector. Set up with a £6 million investment in 2000, it recently released its latest Key Information Document and also opened an office in Shanghai with help from a former Oxford University student who is now seeking investors in China.
