Wheeler Street The results of traffic surveys fell short of the national standard for pedestrian crossings.Nor could the installation of a pedestrian island be considered, as the roadwas notwide enough. Road namesAfter some discussion about the site of the formerHeadcornHall, the council agreed on the nameOldHall Park. Redhill StablesMBCwas investigating the possibility of a natural burial ground at the site.

Public sessionAresident askedwhy the co- option process had not been carried out at theOctober 2017meeting.Another asked if a newsle�erwould be circulated in the near future. Therewas a request that theminutes of parish councilmeetings be placed on the noticeboards.Aresident highlighted concerns for the village should a Leeds/Langley bypass be built. Defibrillator The defibrillator and cabinet had been received and a quotewas awaited fromthe village hall electrician to install it. Abandoned carAresident hadwri�en about an abandoned car and trailer in Gullands.An initial search could not find the vehicle and the residentwould be contacted. Play area Themonthly inspection report noted thatmosswas forming on the safety surfaces and the gatewas closing too fast. The clerkwould take action on the issues. SignpostAsignpost had fallen over or been hit on the corner ofHorseshoes Lane and Heath Road and a signpostwas lying on Horseshoes Lane footpath.

Potholes Borough councillor SueGrigg said therewere concerns about potholes, especially in Busbridge Road. CllrAndrew advised that KCCwas using a loophole to allowit to dismiss claimsmade bymotorists whose cars have been damaged by defective roads by showing they are scheduled for repairs “within a reasonable time”. Camper van CllrGrigg said that therewere overheadwires trailing to a camper van on Old LooseHill fromthe owner’s house. This maymean someone is living in the van and thewire could be considered dangerous. Communitywarden Liz Lova�was asked to investigate. School parking Thewarden and PCSO


were to arrange another date to be at Loose Primary School to talk tomembers of the publicwho park inconsiderately. Kitchenworks Cllr Luckhurst brought kitchen samples to themeeting. Theywere approved, and the tiling and sinkwere discussed. The chairmanwas to supply the flooring, and theworkwill be completed in school holidays. CllrHollisterwas to deal with the removal of the dismantled kitchen. Speedwatch The Speedwatch teamwere stillwaiting for the equipment to arrive and Cllr Rigbywas to talk to Coxheath regarding howtheymanage and store their equipment.He also explained howthe equipmentworks andwhat the role of the volunteers is. Li�er campaign Cllr Luckhurst provided an update on the Love LooseHate Li�er campaign. She has beenworkingwith Chris Lack to get volunteers and the campaign had been promised £500 fromKCC and £200 fromthe LooseAmenitiesAssociation (LAA). Cllr Luckhurstwas also to speak at theAnnual ParishMeeting. Brooks Field TerryDavis reported the LAA had received some late representations regarding the shed on Brooks Field and somemembers had requested that they re- consultwith 50 householders as the unit was different fromthe previous plans. The councilwas concerned that the original time set for this projectwas ninemonths from June 2017 and yet the proposal had not yet reached the planning stage. McAlpine Trust The trust needed six trustees to represent the parish council, and CllrHollisterwas proposed to be the sixth, whichwas agreed. Parishmeeting The agenda for themeeting onApril 25was agreed,with the same layout as last year. The clerkwas to ask local community groups iif theywould like a stall and to speak.Adefibrillator demonstration and a slot for theNeighbourhood Plan Groupwas agreed. Bouncy castles Itwas agreed that changes need to bemade to the hire agreement in order for bouncy castles to be used at the Pavilion. The hire agreementwill be amended to say that bouncy castles are not covered by the LPC insurance, that evidence the castle owner has public liability insurancewill be required and a suggestion that the hirer take out public liability insurance if the bouncy castle is not going to be supervised by the owner. Socialmedia Staff hadmetwith Boxley Parish Council’s clerks regarding the use of Facebook and a CommunityAlert system. It was agreed that Loosewould set up both.
