Fort Worth Dressage Club News
The Fort Worth Dressage Club (FWDC)
is a club devoted to dressage and dressage ac- tivities for its members. We work throughout the year to provide educational opportunities and fun activities for our members. FWDC holds monthly meetings at
Szechuan Chinese Restaurant off Bryant Irv- ing the 4th Monday of every month at 6:30 PM. Everyone is welcome. Our

and group e-mails to members to keep them informed of club activities and other dressage events in the community. Let me know if you would like a dressage event added to our cal- endar. FWDC USDF/USEF Recognized show
was held March 24 and 25 at Somervell Expo in Glen Rose. We offered classes from Train- ing level through Grand Prix. There was also musical freestyle classes – these are dressage rides set to music. FWDC hosted a reception Friday night
for exhibitors and volunteers. The Friday night reception drew rave reviews and was
enjoyed by all. There was also shopping available. From competitors, judges,
volunteers, all involved was a well-run show with some spec- tacular rides. FWDC will give proceeds from one of our classes to Wings of Hope. Our low cost clinic was held

Saturday April 21st. This was a full day that a local professional donated a day to FWDC and we offered lessons to our members for a much reduced cost. This year our clinician was “L” graduate and FWDC member Kristin Currie. Much thanks to Kristin and to Tricia and David Scott of Four Friends Farm for donating their beautiful fa- cility. Our schooling show will be June 3rd at
Willow Draw in Weatherford. We also offer Western and gaited dressage and the event- ing tests. FWDC will also have a pool party,
speakers at monthly meetings, an education day and low cost clinic for members in 2018. Join FWDC and learn more about the
wonderful sport of dressage. We welcome all levels of riders on all breeds of horses! w

All-Breed Ranch Work Championship to pay $10,000 to hardworking horses July 7 Spurred by the popularity of ranch horse events that cel-
ebrate the versatility and workmanship of a cattleman’s best asset, APHA and Classic Equine have teamed up to host the inaugural Ranch Work Championship July 7 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Held in conjunction with the AjPHA Youth World Cham-
pionship Show, the Ranch Work Championship is an all- breed, all-age event that offers $10,000 paid out in a divisional format. The championship focuses on authentic ranch work events—ranch work, ranch roping, ranch cow work and ranch cutting—to spotlight horses with the skills to be valuable as- sets on the job; read on for class descriptions. A 3D Divisional Payout—where each D pays equally—
offers increased payout opportunities for all skill levels. Each division also includes a $600 high-point champion and $400
reserve champion award bonus. Additionally, the high-scoring Paint Horse in each event will receive special awards. The pre-entry deadline for the Ranch Work Championship is 5pm June 29. Entries will be accepted after June 29, but fresh cattle will not be guaran-
teed.
