Kendall Plank Ally Vaughn, and Court- ney Price won the finals easily, 14-5 over University of VA. The men, in- cluding Fritz Felhaber, Christian Ayci- nena, Mariano Silva, and Gideon Kotoski fought hard for their win against Southern Methodist University, tying the score in the chukka and pulling off the win after 6 grueling rounds of penalty shootouts. TAMU’s Mike Mc- Cleary coached both Aggie teams.

8 show, held in Searcy, was cold but drew many new contestants! Some won both HP and AA prizes, including Gwinna McWilliams (Nov-Am/Ceetees Boston Smoke), Makenna Pounders (Y/Remedy of the Blues), and Josie Mansfield (Nov-Y/Winning Attribute). Other HPs Shane Campbell (All- Age/Playboys O Grady) and Vicki Cou- turier (Am/Nu Whiz King). Other AAs Jed Lawrence (All-Age/Chexwood Win or Lose) and Shelly Gardiner (Am/SS Johnny Buck). Jed Lawrence was Top Ranch Hand on Plumb Starlight.


The Lovington Chamber of


Commerce Spring Fling 5D BR, held April 7-8 in Lovington NM, paid out $11,233.02. Katelyn Scott won Satur- day’s 1D on KN Born This Way with 16.61. Hayden Todd won the 1D Sun- day with 16.7 on Famous Candy Cane.

are hosting a Summer Buckle Series which kicks off May 12-13 at Johnson Performance Horses in Ardmore, fol- lowed by shows June 9-10 and July 14- 15. Competition will include Versatility Ranch Horse classes as well as AQHA special event reining, cutting, and ranch riding. A Saturday evening pot luck sup- per is planned. AQHA announced that its 2019,


2020, and 2021 Select World Shows will be held in Fort Worth. The associa- tion and Will Rogers Memorial Center have a 3-year contract covering those events. The 2018 Select show is still slated for August 24-September 1 at Amarillo National Center.


TCU’s horse, Flash, was recently


selected as a Santa Cruz Animal Health Top 10 Horse by NCEA. Flash, aka G&C Flash, competes for the Frogs in Equitation on the Flat.


The list of 75-year and 50-year


breeders was released by AQHA. T4 Cattle Company, Tucumcari, NM, will be honored for 75 years as a breeder. 50- year cumulative breeders will include Jerry Ann Dickinson (TX), Frank Hen- richson (TX), B.F. Loftin (LA), Frank and Robin Merrill (TX), and John Mor- gan O’Brien III (TX) while 50-year legacy breeders will include Perry Corder (TX), George Logan (OK), and Carol Rose (TX).
