USTRC’s NM Championship, held March 30-31 in Clovis,
paid a total of $17,380. #11 division had the biggest payout, with winners being Madison Haley and Kaden Prince, snaring 4 in 35.58.
TQHA hosted the Champion of Champions (novice) show
March 30-April 1, in conjunction with the Aggie Super Circuit in Bryan. Amateur champions were Michele Dare (RR/Xtra Diamond N Town) Whitney Murin (HUS/Best of Hocus), Danielle Watson (Eq/Shes Zippen N Style), Jennifer Murray (Hmanshp/One Lazy Amiga) Nancy Cooper (WP/No Sneakinuponwilly) Kristin Hoff- man (Reining/Ollies Dun Slidin) and Cassandra Lepp (Trail & W Riding/Livin Lazy), and Stephanie Lepp (Shmanshp/Livin Lazy). Baylor University had 2 riders recognized for Big 12 Confer-
ence post-season honors March 31. Rachael Davis was named Rider of the Year for Equitation on the Flat, and Georgia Smith was se- lected as Rider of the Year for Reining.
Texas A&M University had 5 members receiving NCEA ac-
ademic awards April 5. Bailey Cook was named to the Farnum NCEA Academic First Team, having met the requirements of com- peting in at least 70% of the team’s meets and a cumulative GPA of 3.5+. Alex Desiderio, Ashton Dunkel, Darby Gardner, Kalee Mc- Cann, and Sarah Orsak were named to the Farnam Academic Hon- orable Mention Team, competing in at least 50% of the meets and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
The University of OK’s equestrian teamled the Big 12 this
year with 6 athletes named as NCEA All-Americans. Harley Huff was named First Team All-American (Horsemanship). Ebba Lange and Hannah Mitchell were named Second Team and Stephanie Helsen received Honorable Mention (Reining). Abigail Brayman and Kendall Perigo received Honorable Mention (Eq Flat).
EBarrelracing’s I’m Eggstraspecial Too event, held April 6-
8 at Marshall City Arena offered $10,200 added money and paid out a total of $39,420. Open 1D winners included Ashley Surman (Fri/Doc N Zips Pistolena/15.289), Mikayla Brown (Sat/Tommy Tank/14.935), and Cassidy Kruse (Sun/Scooter/14.976).
USTRC’s Summer Kick Off, held April 6-8 in Guthrie OK,
paid out $92,425. The biggest chunk of that went to the #9 Handi- cap, with average champs being Brayden Kelly and Kayden Sher- wood with 32.43 on 4.
