What's hot and what's not in pregnancy and parenting

Practical and versatile!

Every parent loves baby items that are easily adaptable and grow easily with a child! This gorgeous special edition rose-gold Mon Amore Prima Pappa Zero 3 highchair from Pegperego is a great example of a chair that starts out as a recliner, before ‘morphing’ into a high chair. With its seven height positions and five reclining positions, you’re sure to find a setting that is perfect for your child and, even better, when it’s not in use, the chair is compact and free standing when folded. pegperego.co.uk

Entrepreneurial mum

‘socks’ it to them! How many times have you looked down at your little one’s feet to find that they have only one sock on? Or, even worse, no socks? Well, mum of seven, Kezi Levin, had had enough of her little one pulling off their socks and discarding them on the pavement, and decided she was going to do something about it! After searching high and low for a solution, Kezi finally came up with Sock Ons: an amazingly simple gadget to stop socks from going astray. Made from soft, stretchy material, Sock Ons are designed to fit over regular socks, keeping them firmly in place no matter how hard a baby tugs at them and kicks. Since coming to market, the Sock Ons brand has had a massive impact on the baby industry, winning numerous awards and quickly becoming a ‘must have’ for all babies! sockons.co.uk

Book helps kids to express

their feelings An award-winning Kingston University nursing graduate has drawn on her experience working in schools to create an innovative children’s book that helps young people find the right words to express their emotions. Katrina Sealey wrote Angry, ANGRY Angus while

working in her first graduate role as a school nurse. The illustrated book – which is centred around a little badger with a temper – aims to introduce children to the language they need to express their emotions appropriately from a younger age. ‘I asked young children to draw a couple of pictures

of a person who is happy and a person who is angry,’ Katrina told MM, and when one girl drew the angry person, it had spikey, stick fingers. I asked her about it and she said her fingers go spikey when she feels angry. It was so insightful because, even at a young age, children really know how being angry feels, but they’re not given the opportunity to explore how it affects them personally.’

28 Modernmum As simple as 1-2-3!

Just add water, pop the bottle in the microwave for three minutes and it’s done! Genius! mambaby.com
