Western OK Ranch HAhosted the first of its 5 show saddle se-
ries March 10-11 at Royce Ranch in El Reno. Versatility Ranch Horse Challenge winners were Jon Carpenter (All-Age/SR Diamond Katrina), Jennifer Ingram (Am/Rey Jay Boonsmal), Cheryl Dixon (Nov-Am/Corinnnes Last Star), Heather Burchberger (Rookie- Rider/Jumpin Jessie), Devin Weichel (Nov-Horse/Bar W Smart Gun), Landon Bidleman (yth/Kings Oh Cay Lena), and Ruth Larson (Nov-y/Pink Bubblegum). HPs were the same except Lorie Na- glestad took the Rookie-Rider with Daisies.
HLSR’s horse judging contest was held March 7 in Katy. Top
FFA individuals were Ashley Grayless (The Woodlands FFA Team 1) and Lara Ebler (Aubrey FFA Team 1), and the Jr 4-H winner was Hannah Vierling (Medina Co 4-H Jr Team 3). Tied with 483 points to win Sr 4-H were Abigail Newbold (Wise Co Sr 4-H Team 1) and Clayton Elbel (Comal Co 4-H Sr Team 1).
In the NCHA Eastern Nationals Championship in Jackson,
MS, March 11, Ali Good, Ringling, OK, won the sr youth title on Cat Atat Cat. Tying for third were Karrigan Cagley, Kentwood, LA, on Little Sweet Spot, and Mattie Dukes, Weatherford, TX, on One Time Player. Charles Russell Bushaw, Weatherford, earned the reserve jr youth win on Peptotoodie.
