C. W. Hood in Marblehead, MA is busy
and has some interesting projects underway. They have fi ve Hood 32s under con-
struction. One will be going to Florida, two to the Great Lakes, one to South Carolina and one to Connecticut. All will be done for this coming season and in fact one will be making an appearance at this year’s Maine Boatbuilders Show in Portland this March. They also have under construction a 26
foot electric runabout. The hull is a one-off and is being built of carbon. They have done a lot of research on this project and state that their boat will operate at 25 knots for three hours and will top out at 50 miles an hour. She will be done this summer. On the designing board is a 57 foot
fl ybridge cruiser, which is being designed in-house and with assistance of Stephens & Waring in Belfast. The hull and deck will be cold molded, which will be done at another yard, and then fi nished by Hood. She is scheduled to be started this spring. An East Bay 38 is in for a full rehab, which consists mostly of cosmetic work. They are still working on the Little Har-

She will be Awlgripped this summer and launched shortly after that. A couple of boats, both Wasque 26s, are in to be repowered with diesel engines.
