Volunteers help nonprofits thrive in the Twin Lakes Area

very day in Mountain Home and its surrounding towns, volunteers help make this community a better place to live. They are the backbone of many area nonprofits.


Jeff Quick, CEO of Food Bank of North Central Arkansas,


says volunteers contribute 15,000 hours a year to the food bank. “That is a huge savings for us. Because of the generosity we


have in the Twin Lakes Area, we are able to do a lot more with less. One dollar donated to the food bank can now provide seven meals, according to our latest numbers,” Quick said. In honor of National Volunteer Month in April, we wanted to


highlight some of those people that make a difference. This is just a glimpse of the commitment in the region, echoed many nonprofit directors, behind these volunteers are many others who contribute to their community.
