Eight years ago, Rick and Pam Fair-
lamb were on a mission. “We were trying to figure out how
we could benefit our community and give our lives a sense of purpose and make our lives more meaningful. We thought the hospital would be a good place because it was very beneficial to our town,” said Pam Fairlamb. Baxter Regional Medical Center’s
reputation was one of the draws when the Fairlambs decided to retire here in 1999. Every other week, the Fairlambs
give tours of the hospital to new em- ployees; they offer tours to school groups, volunteers, have shown phys- ical therapy students at ASU around; escorted public relations tours for the Chamber of Commerce; and even gave a New York Times reporter a tour when the newspaper sent a journalist out last year for a story. In addition, the Fairlambs are active
in the hospital auxiliary which boasts 499 volunteers. The auxiliary is a fund-
