House in Norfork, a National Register of Historic Places site since 1973. Jacob Wolf was a merchant, builder, carpen- ter, blacksmith, who was elected as a representative to the General Assembly of Arkansas Territory in 1826. The two- story dogtrot structure was constructed by Wolf in 1829 as the first permanent courthouse for Izard County in Arkan- sas Territory. It is the oldest U.S.-built courthouse west of the Mississippi. In March of 2017, the Department of


Arkansas Heritage acquired the site from the Baxter County Quorum Court and is working on site improvements. Once complete, the Wolf House will offer comprehensive interpretive themes between 1829-1863 tied to the historic site, among other things. It is open to the public weekdays

Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs National Park features eight bathhouse buildings that were constructed between 1892 and 1923. This area along with the Grand Promenade has been designated a Na- tional Historic Landmark District. Cen- tral High School in Little Rock is recog- nized for the public role it played in desegregation in 1957. You must have a guided tour which are offered week- days at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., except holi- days, winter and spring breaks.
