Victory for Looe U12s

Looe town Girls U12s won their first ever tournament on Sunday.


The girls have been playing in Newquay along with teams all over cornwall in the past couple of months competing in a Futsol tournament.


On Sunday 11th February they


finished champions of the Newquay Futsol Shield. Looe town Girls started off the day with a goalless draw against Bodmin, but then went on to win all of their remaining games of the day which put them into the final against Callington.


The final was a hard fought match with both teams scoring in normal time and ending the game 1-1 which then made the game go into the dreaded penalty shootout.


After some good penalties scored and some good saves made from both goal keepers


the game remained even. Next was sudden death. Anya Martin stepped up and slotted the ball home to the goal keepers left.


Mia Puttock then made another fantastic penalty save between the posts to give Looe town Girls the victory in the shield.
