Beauty panto declared ‘the best ever’
Audiences in Looe booed, cheered and enjoyed a laughter-filled evening as the town’s Community Players staged Sleeping Beauty.
It was the fourth pantomime to be produced and performed by the all-female group – and their best ever, according to the crowd, said spokesperson Dot Dunning, who added: ‘The audience booed and cheered in the traditional manner of panto enthusiasts.
‘Of course, the real scene stealers were the delightful fairies and witches from Sheila’s School of Dance.’
Superb
Dot continued: ‘With superb costumes, including a smoke- breathing dragon, this group goes from strength to strength under the directorship of Marilyn King.’
Plans are already being made for next year’s production – and the Looe Community Players are always keen to hear from prospective new members, says Dot: ‘The only qualification needed is to be female – so come and join us!’

A few girls from Sheila's School of dancing recently were the dancers in the Looe Community Players at the Millpool Centre, West Looe.
Maddison Senior, Amelia Franklin, Bella Shipley, Summer Spence, Francesca Schlussas, Summer Cainey, Maggie Jones and Bella Pike wowed the audience with a special witches dance and other parts.
The four lovely little fairies/may pole dancers were Nell Reason,
Ava Clayton, Demelza Maddiver and Sophie Evans who were foot perfect in their dance routines although all only 5 years old.
The pantomine was Sleeping Beauty and the rest of the adult cast thought the scene stealers were Sheila's dancers. The Director Marilyn King said’ After 4 years of the dance school taking part they get better and better every year’
