QDear Carley Q

DearCarley... My boyfriend and I have

decided thatwewant tomove in together andwe have already started looking at houses. However, my parents, even thoughwe have been together for three years, have never liked him and completely disapprove of our decision. This has put a massive strain on our relationship and all I’m trying to do is make both sides happy, whilst deciding on what’s best for me. I honestly do not knowwhat to do anymore and I just cannot understandwhymy parents take such a dislike to someoneso important inmy life. Please helpme cometo a decision on what to do and howI can try andmake both sides civil with each other. Annabelle,Benhall

Dear Annabelle, When two people you love so

much don’t see eye to eye, this can be theworst thing ever and especiallywhen it puts a strain on both relationships. The best advice I can give you is to gowith your heart andwhatmakes you happiest. If your parent’s opinion meansmore to you than any relationship, then stand by their decision. However, in this situation you obviously love your boyfriend verymuch and if hemeans that much to you, then Iwould stick by himand let your parents accustom to himand you. I really hope that

both your parents and boyfriend can sort things out between them and that this does not interrupt your feelings.Good luckwith everything.

DearCarley... There’s a really crude and

embarrassing rumour going around aboutmeat University which is really upsetting. It’s 100% not true and I think I knowwhomadeit up. But people are looking atmeweirdly when Iwalk around campus and I I’ve lost a good friend because of it. Howdo I convince everyone it’s a rumour and not true? Alex, Leckhampton

everyone and unfortunately, they can be really nasty. Spend some timewith your friends to get your mind off it. They’re the people that aren’t going to believe some silly rumour and you could end up laughing about it. The truth is that youwon’t be able to convince absolutely everyone it’s a rumour; some peoplewill just believe everything they hear, as long as they have something to gossip about. A lot of drama happens every day in every aspect of life, so I guarantee they’ll be talking about something else by next week. The best thing to dowhen anything like this happens is to just ignore it.
