SIMPLEWAYSTOMOTIVATE YOURSELFTO DOANYTHING

Personal trainer&health coach SamNeades uses her expertise in training and pushing her clients with exercise and nutrition to help YOUmotivate yourself to do whatever you put your mind to

We’re alreadywell into 2018 and although youmay have started the new year with resolutions, good intentions and lots of motivation, as theweeks pass by it’s normal to start to struggle with staying on track. Whether it’s keeping up the exercise, sticking to that healthy diet, getting through your to do list, it can be tough to find the motivation to get going at times. To help yourself, you’ve got to

think about thewhy. This thing that you need to do could be rather tedious, so ask yourselfWHYyou’re even bothering in the first place. If you can’t think of a reasonwhy, then

the chances are you shouldn’tworry about it anyway; but if you can, then this reason should help spur you on to get back into it. It’s a bit cheesy, but it doeswork,

and that’s puttingmotivational mantras around yourhomeor place ofwork for a little pick-me-up when your drive is lacking. Messages written to yourself like ‘you can do this!’ or ‘go to the gym– you knowyou’ll feel better after!’ can really influence you for the positive; seeing these messages and having them repeated to you really willmake you start to believe them. Try sticking Post-It notes with what you need to hear

around your desk or even on the back of the toilet door as a constant reminder that youCANdo anything you set your mind to! Struggling withwork? Get a cuppa

and just doa little bitofwork for five minutes. That 5 minutes is often enough to get you going and motivated to get thatwork done. If it doesn’t, it’s usually not a big deal. Maybe this is the project that you need to take baby steps with; try and get a little done at a time. You can always help yourself by writing out a list, too. Plan yourself little manageable mini tasks to help complete the main job at hand and once you’ve completed a task, tick it off. That sense of satisfaction you’ll get when you can mark something off as ‘done’ will help motivate you to do the next thing on your list. Make sure you’re in the right

environment. Got a load of housework to do but keep getting distracted by the TV? Turn it off, put on somemotivational music and dance around your house with the hoover. The dust will go and you’ll actually have fun doing it too.Maybe
