But as I was holding the 8 iron in
my hands, trying to remember to slightly bend my spine from my hips, soften my knees, and keep my eyes on this tiny little white ball in front of me, I quickly realized this was going to require a lot more than simple concentration and a little bit of luck to get the ball where I wanted it to go. “Do you play any sports?” Colin, my
instructor asked with a smile. “I like to run.” I said quickly as I started to realize that my lack of athleticism was probably becoming blatantly apparent to him. “Yea, that’s not going to help you.” he responded. “The golf swing is more complicated than the linear movement of running.” “I see that.” I replied laughing.
And then it happened.
The
connection... the sound and the sight of my ball sailing down the fairway. “Did you see that?!” I yelled to Colin. “I did,” he said laughing. “But do you see that flag?” he asked.
