18th year in business ◆ Award winning design

At first we were thinking that we had to phase our whole house remodel because we couldn’t imagine being able to have everything planned and organized so easily. Kathe and Leah walked us through the entire design process according to a precisely detailed schedule that outlined everything that we needed to do and when. Many of the selections were made with them in their showroom and others were made with them at their trade partner’s showroom. Although we were free to do our own research, we didn’t have to lift a finger. Either Kathe or Leah and sometimes both were present at all of our design and selection appointments. We just had to show up and make decisions from a manageable group of choices that were based on our taste and budget preferences. Now that it is all done, we are so glad that we came to DreamBuilders and let them help us. The process was painless.

- Mike and Rita R., Gold River, CA How much will it cost?

Many folks have a difficult time getting started on their project because they are worried about what things will cost. And the traditional model of calling 3 contractors to get a bid doesn’t work for a whole house remodel unless you have a complete scope of work and set of plans. During our 18 years in business, we have learned that before we begin working with a client on design, we must help them wrap their heads around the budget. We have devised a special 3 step process to create a budget and scope of work for our clients before we even start design. Most of our whole house remodels start at around $200,000 and go up from there, depending on the size, scope of work, and materials chosen.

We were concerned about whether we would be able to afford our remodel and were spinning our wheels in trying to get bids from contractors who wouldn’t call us back or prepare a detailed bid. We went to one of Mike and Kathe’s seminars and learned a more efficient way find to out what things cost. We decided to have them come out for a site evaluation and prepare a preliminary scope of work and budget for us at a nominal fee. We were relieved that we would be able to do the project with them and there were no surprises during the design or construction process.

- Karen and Jim J., Fair Oaks, CA How long will it take?

One of the most frustrating things is to not know how long your project will take and when the workers are coming. We believe that 95% of the horror stories that you hear about contractors are due to poor planning skills, rather than malicious behavior. If a contractor does not furnish a schedule, that means that he has not planned this out ahead of time and will fit your project in as he goes along. It also means that things may not get ordered on time, workers may not get scheduled at the appropriate times, and that you will most certainly have delays. Here at DreamBuilders, we utilize a variety of planning tools to plan and manage our projects. Our clients have full access to an online planning

portal so that they can track the schedule and project milestones, as well as communicate with our staff.

Wow, we couldn’t believe how organized DreamBuilders was. We loved having access to the portal where we could approve and manage our selections, view our construction documents, and communicate with our contractor and design staff. Oh, and the best part was the fabulous schedule that we could follow. If there was a change in the schedule, Mike would call us and let us know. It would also get updated in the portal so we could see how it would impact the overall schedule. It was our light at the end of the tunnel.
