Three Sheets: a tiny, crazy bar on the Kingsland Road, London. Try the French 75.

Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour: inspired by Around the World in Eighty Days, it’s as quirky as London gets.

Nightjar: the most memorable drink I’ve ever had was served at this London bar; a savoury gin-based cocktail with oyster Beyond the Sea.

Meet Loic Cretel, Hampton Manor’s Head Bartender. Loic competes globally in bartending awards; he’s shaken and stirred behind some of the UK’s best bars; 40 St Paul’s, The Colmore Club, and Hind’s Head Bray all made his 2017 list. When he’s clocked off he plays a game of barstool hop as he searches for the best cocktail bars.

We’ve picked Loic’s brains for his top tips for a good tipple – as if anyone knows a bar hotspot when he sees one, it’s him. Here he’s done the hard work for you and reveals his top 5.

At home at Hampton Manor, Loic is often found foraging in the Walled Garden, looking for ingredients to infuse into his garden-led mocktail that kicks off the Manor’s unique afternoon tea experience. The afternoon tea menu and drinks list is driven by the British ingredients that would typically be found in a Victorian garden.

Hampton Manor’s afternoon tea experience is served daily at 3pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Book on 01675 446080 HAMPTONMANOR.COM. Quote

The Maker’s Table

You can pick Loic’s gin-muddled brain at The Maker’s Table, our new offering at Hampton Manor.

Be among the few to taste Orbium, a reimagining of Hendrick’s gin by master distiller, Lesley Gracie. A limited edition gin, rarely found. Let our team take you through the story of

imaginative ways to mix your drink. Finish with some samples of other craft gins to see exactly where Hendricks sits on the spectrum.

This pre-dinner experience is all about sharing, tasting, and storytelling, one sip at a time. The Maker’s Table is a communal table with eight stools available by reservation only. You’re welcome with or without a dinner reservation but why not make the most of the night?

£30 per person including nibbles. Allow half an hour. Tues-Sat 6pm, booking essential.

For groups of 4 to 8 an extended version of the experience is available that finishes with making your own bathtub gin to take home. Allow 1 hour. £45 per person. Book on 01675 446080 HAMPTONMANOR.COM
