LIVE 24-SEVEN - BEAUTY

UMBERTO GIANNINI SPRING STYLE

With Spring around the corner, it’s the perfect time to update your style. If you’re looking to upgrade your hair with minimum commitment, here’s my pick of the coolest ways to do so – fresh from the catwalk!

STRAIGHT TALKING: Kim Kardashian has been a fan of impossibly straight hair for some time – along with Bella and Gigi Hadid, Beyonce and just about every other cool gal on the planet. We’ll be following suit courtesy of our trusty straighteners and Umberto Giannini Iron Out Heat Activated Straightening Balm.

SHE BANGS! Fringes will forever be cool thanks to the likes of Alexa Chung and Zooey Deschanel showing us how it’s done and this year, we’re going to be seeing a choppier texture worn slightly parted in the middle (Hi, Alexa!). Aim for a tapered, longer shape for that cool 1970s feel or wear it slightly shorter for a kookier effect that can look striking with petite features.

TO BE BLUNT: As seen on Olivia Culpo and Jourdan Dunn, a blunt finish gives a style a new lease of life - think sharp bobs that fall to the jaw or collarbone. Blunt ends are ideal for reviving healthy hair or adding volume to limp, lifeless locks and can work with straight or curly finishes.

AND FINALLY…THE UPDO UPDATE: We know they’ve been back on the high street for a while now but scrunchies are set to become a long hair essential this year. Head to Topshop and H&M for velvet, metallic and (our fave) faux fur versions, or make your own with a length of elastic, the fabric of your choice and a little patience!
