LIVELINE
As we push into February, and await the return of Spring in March, Christmas seems like some distant memory. Tere’s a lot of new music around, and many artists are touring to promote recently-released albums. Shake off the winter blues, and get yourselves down to our local venues, and embrace the sounds of 2018.
FEBRUARY f you really need a clue where to be on the 2nd then my name ain’t Dr Watson. Live For Te Moment with Te Sherlocks at Te Waterfront. Elementary.
Second Light is cited as having been one of John Peel’s favourite albums of all time. Last year’s Dread Times keeps that spirit alive. Check out the mighty Dreadzone at Epic Studios on the 3rd.
Last year NME described Inheaven’s eponymous release as ‘indie’s most dangerously exciting debut album’. Tey return to Norwich Arts Centre on the 9th, supported by Brighton’s Tyla, and our very own Graceland. Pony Up, people!
You can go Bowling For Soup at the Nick Rayns LCR on the 14th. If you are the Girl All Te Bad Guys Want then be careful when you get Drunk Enough To Dance. Personally, I shall stick to minestrone. In a mug.
Calling all avenging angels. 90’s favourites Space are back at the Waterfront Studio on the 16th. Can it really be twenty years since Cerys Matthews denied throwing her knickers at Tommy Scott in Te Ballad of Tom Jones?
Straight after their album launch party at Te Lexington in London, Ducking Punches, swing by Norwich Arts Centre

If you like it loud (and who doesn’t?) charge along to Te Owl Sanctuary on the 24th for the visit of Kent hardcore band Feed Te Rhino. Don’t be fooled by the title of their new album. It’s called Te Silence.
No commotion at Epic Studios on the 26th when Lloyd Cole performs songs from his recently re-released 1983- 1996 anthologies. A chance to see if, close up, he really does have perfect skin.
End the month at Te Waterfront on the 28th when Los Angeles’ Butcher Babies get to thrash, rattle and roll to celebrate the end of our British winter. Grab a Happy Meal on the way home from that one.
MARCH You’ll get to see Everything Everything when you pop along to the Nick Rayns LCR on the 2nd. And the mighty Pumarosa are support.
Discover whether violins really are capable of spontaneous combustion when Blazin’ Fiddles perform at Norwich Arts Centre on the 5th. Fire On!

Te Guardian quite rightly described singer-songwriter Raghu Dixit as ‘India’s biggest cultural export’. Find out why at Open on the 15th.
Legendary Newcastle folk rockers Lindisfarne are at Epic Studios on the 16th. Meet them on the corner in Magdalen Street if you want to hear Lady Eleanor one more time.
If you have been yearning to hear slide- guitar blues played by a one-man band dressed as a human cannonball and wearing a full-face crash helmet, then make sure you are at Norwich Arts Centre on the 22nd. Just remember not to buy Bob Log III a scotch without doing your homework first.
Commontime was one of my favourite albums of 2016. Now, Sunderland’s Field Music arrive at Te Waterfront on the 24th with the newly-released Open Here. Just remember to wait for the door staff to let you in.
Tere’s another opportunity to dance to Joy Division when Te Wombats return to the Nick Rayns LCR on the 25th. Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, but marsupials can never hurt you.
Brooklyn’s Sunflower Bean won us over when they supported Wolf Alice last year. Full marks to Open for bringing them back to Norwich on the 26th. Place this trio in some warm compost, and watch them grow.
Sheringham Museum kick off a new season of Music at Te Mo with Te Shackleton Trio on the 30th. End the month with music in your ears, and some sea air in your lungs.
And that’s it folks. Winter is over, and Spring is in the air. I might surprise you on April 1st when, in the words of Te New Seekers, You Won’t Find Another Fool Like Me.
