Healthcare service provides for region
It's been just a year since the launch of the Sentinel minor operations service and it is now firmly established as a provider of high quality, private treatment. The service is the commercial arm of Sentinel Healthcare which provides NHS commissioned services in the Plymouth area.
The aim of setting up a private minor operations service was twofold: 1. To offer patients an affordable way to receive treatment for conditions which are no longer offered by the NHS
2. To generate income that Sentinel could use to reinvest in development work and projects within healthcare in Plymouth
The service removes benign lumps and bumps such as moles, cysts, fatty lumps, warts and skin tags – all conditions that are no longer funded for removal by the NHS or when the patient’s GP doesn’t have the time or expertise to remove them. Plymouth has been the main source of patient referrals although there
are increasing numbers of queries from clients in the South Hams and mid Devon area. The service is looking to expand into parts of Cornwall in 2018. From an initial one half-day per month at its inception, the service now
operates five half-days a month and is showing month-on-month growth. Lee Grant, Clinical Services Manager, said: : “We offer a high-quality
service through accredited clinicians in a modern treatment centre. We are a business but also part of a social enterprise so we strive to keep costs as low as possible. Ninety-seven per cent of our patients would recommend us to friends and family.”

the city's existing facility on the Pavilions site and comprise a 43,400 sq ft building with seating for 1,100 spectators. It is designed to meet International Ice Hockey Federation and Sport England standards and will host competitive Ice Hockey and Ice Dance Gala events, as well as public skating.
