Hello and welcome to the January 2018 issue of Venue Insight Magazine,


THE MUST HAVE publication for the UK hospitality industry. May I start by wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.


Does Christmas already feel like a lifetime ago? Never fear, there is so much to look forward to and we’ve done our best to try and pack in as much as possible to keep you happy until the night starts drawing out and the light of spring is at the end of the tunnel.


Our friends at Europa grab 2018 by the horns and take us on a typically wacky journey into their world. As always, behind the fruit and vegetable filled madness there is some sound advice to get things off to a great start. Take note!


The 2018 hospitality events scene awakes from its slumber with two cracking shows on the horizon. First up is PUB18, the only dedicated trade show for the UK pub industry which is returning to London’s Olympia on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th February 2018. This show is an absolute must for pub operators looking to enhance operations. Next up in March (5th to 8th at ExCel London) is the UK’s leading hospitality event – Hotelympia. With the introduction of four new, exciting and contemporary shows, united under one roof, as part of a fresh new identity Hotelympia will reaffirm its position as the industry’s must-attend showcase event for every hospitality business.


The wine wizards at Lanchester peer further into 2018 and explain what is on the horizon for the industry. They also want you to tell them what you want!! Take part in our bespoke survey and you could grab yourself an extremely rare 3 litre bottle of Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 – one of only 12 bottles in the world, worth over £300!!!
