Eat less sugar for better mental health

Did you know that, if you’re a man, who eats a lot of sugar, you’re more likely to be affected by poor mental health? That’s according to experts from University College London, whose study suggests that those with high sugar intakes have a higher risk of common mental health disorders, such as anxiety and depression, after five years, compared to others with low intakes.

The next time you’re sitting in rush-hour traffic, wishing you could ‘fly’ home – take heart! In 2019 Jetpack Aviation in California – where else? – are planning to launch their JB-10 jetpack, which is billed as the first jetpack that ‘an average person’ can fly. Technology, it would seem, has finally caught up with imagination and the company is currently developing production of the jetpack. The JB-10 fits into your boot, can stay airborne for about ten minutes at a time, accelerate to more than 70 miles per hour, and reach altitudes of over 10,000 feet. All you need is to use your imagination to make that extra quick trip home from work – oh, and about £200,000!

Why being ‘happy Harried’ can be good for you!

As the previously relatively ‘wild’ Prince Harry prepares for marriage, he can look forward to the perks of being ‘happy harried’. According to the experts, there are definite advantages to getting wed. For a start, you’re likely to be fitter! According to the Royal

Economic Society, married men are 20 per cent more likely to go for a run every week than single men. You’re also likely to feel happier. Studies by Michigan State

University have shown that, over the course of a lifetime, married men display a higher level of happiness than their single counterparts. And, finally, you’re less likely to partake of the old ‘falling down

water’. A study by the University of Cincinnati found that men drink less alcohol when they’re in a committed relationship, although, ironically, women drink more!
